Resetting the admin Account Password

To associate a new email address with the LiveCompare admin account and reset the account’s password, carry out the following steps. These steps require access to the LiveCompare server, either directly or via a Remote Desktop connection.

Log on to the LiveCompare server and navigate to the <LiveCompare install dir>\web\binn directory from a command window.

  1. Run ‘net stop rnserver’ to stop the Tricentis LiveCompare Application Server service.
  2. Run the set_admin_email.bat file, passing in the email account for the LiveCompare administrator, for example:

set_admin_email h.hunter@tricentis.com

  1. Run ‘net start rnserver’ to restart the Tricentis LiveCompare Application Server service.
  2. In the LiveCompare login screen, enter admin in the Username field, and click the Can’t access your account? link.

The user associated with the admin account will receive an email containing instructions on how to reset the password.
